The Community-As-Schools program strives to provide opportunities for qualified students to serve internships under the direction of professionals for the purpose of developing career skills which are necessary for success in contemporary trades, occupations, and professions. If an internship placement can be arranged for you, you will have an opportunity to be part of a unique and challenging learning experience in the "real" world under the guidance of a Community Teacher. Upon successful completion of an internship, including a LEAP, you will receive credit towards graduation.
In order to participate in the program, students must:
Students shall complete and return all forms before beginning internship:
1. application
2. Parent/Guardian approval form
3. Adult Student approval form (if appropriate)
3. medical form
4. photo/video taping permission form
5. training agreement
6. EDP which indicates a direct relationship to the placement.
7. In-School Placements
8. driver's license and proof of insurance
9. participate in "Program Orientation" 1 week prior to beginning work.
10. be currently enrolled in a related academic class.
Interns are required to turn in a signed time sheet and a dated quality journal on a weekly basis or risk being removed from the program. To receive credit interns must complete all LEAP activities, have completed a satisfactory final project, have completed the required number of hours and receive a favorable evaluation from their community teacher by the established DEADLINE.
